Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the
university organized a training course for the university’s
staff on Monday and Tuesday, 19-20 Rabi’ al-Thani 1441 AH,
at nine thirty in the morning in the training hall, entitled
“Internal Auditing of the Quality Management System in
accordance with ISO 9001:2015” delivered by His Excellency
Dr. Bin Abdullah Taher, Head of the Quality Unit at the
Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation.
The course included an explanation of the basic concepts of
quality and knowledge of the requirements for the
international standard ISO 9001:2015 and how to apply the
provisions of the standard to the activities of the
university sectors in order to establish, activate and audit
the quality management system. The course also included
practical training on the internal audit methodology to
equip the trainees with the required capabilities for the
stages of the auditing process (planning and implementation)
and to enhance their abilities to write the audit reports in
accordance with the guideline of ISO 19001:2018.
This course comes within the framework of developing the
knowledge and skills necessary for university staff for
internal auditing of the quality management system in the
sector, and enabling university staff to practice auditing
and improve performance in order to maintain an effective
and strong quality management system.

أUnder the patronage of His Excellency the
President of the University
His Excellency the President of King Abdulaziz University,
Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Obaid Al Youbi, inaugurated the
Quality Week activities today, Sunday Rabi’ Al-Thani 11,
1441 AH corresponding to December 8, 2019 AD in the presence
of the University’s Vice Deans, Deans of Faculties,
Deanships and Institutes and Faculty Members from the two
campuses. The Quality Week is organized by the Deanship of
Quality and Academic Accreditation.
The opening ceremony included a speech by the Dean of the
Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation, Prof. Hamed
bin Abdul Raouf Saleh, who expressed his happiness for the
President on honoring this ceremony and his continuous
support for the Deanship's initiatives and activities in
order to achieve educational quality assurance that aims to
improve university learning outcomes. He also explained key
points of the new universities law and what the deanship has
done to syncronize its objectives and activities in the
areas of quality, evaluation and assessment and academic
accreditation with the new law, which is culminated by the
launching of the President’s Award for Excellence in
University Performance.
Afterwards, the President of the University, Prof. Abdul
Rahman bin Obaid Al-Youbi delivered a speech in which he
underscored the importance of the new universities law that
is compatible with the Saudi vision 2030. He pointed to the
great and continuous support of His Excellency the Minister
of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, for improving learning
outcomes in the public and university education sectors.
Then, His Excellency the President of the University
inaugurated The President’s Award for Excellence in
University Performance, and (Daman) initiative of the
Deanship of Quality, which aims at promoting the culture of
quality and accreditation. His Excellency also launched a
series of electronic lectures for the deanship, which will
start from Sunday.
His Excellency also honored the university sectors that
obtained academic and professional accreditations, as well
as the distinguished affiliates of the Deanship of Quality
and Academic Accreditation and supervisors of quality and
academic accreditation units.
The Quality Week activities will last for one week, starting
from Sunday to Thursday, 11-15 Rabi’ Al-Thani 1441 AH
corresponding to 8-12 December 2019. The activities of
‘Quality Week’ include a number of specialized lectures in
the fields of quality and academic accreditation delivered
by experts of quality and academic accreditation from within
King Abdulaziz University. The Quality Week activities are
held annually by the deanship stemming from its belief in
the promotion of the culture of quality and academic
accreditation and improving the level of quality of the
educational process and learning outcomes at King Abdulaziz
University.

His Excellency the Dean of Quality
and Academic Accreditation, Prof. Hamed bin Abdul Raouf
Muhammad Salih inaugurated the institutional accreditation
course for King Abdulaziz University in light of the new
standards. The course is delivered by Prof. Peter Hudson for
the university faculty members.
The course is attended by over 45 faculty members from the
two campuses, where requirements and practices of
institutional accreditation in accordance with the new
standards and the role of the university sectors in
achieving them are reviewed. The course is held for three
days from 19-21 November 2019 corresponding to 22-24 Rabi’
Al-Awwal 1441 AH from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM at the Deanship
of Quality and Academic Accreditation.
The Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation said that
this workshop is part of the activities of the Deanship of
Quality and Academic Accreditation to promote the culture of
quality and institutional accreditation among university
affiliates and to train university sectors to meet the
requirements and practices of institutional accreditation as
the institutional accreditation is an integrated work that
requires cooperation between university sectors.
