King Abdulaziz University was one of the first Saudi universities to develop a program for total quality (Resolution No. 7727/502 dated 10/08/1421 AH of His Excellency the University President), which implements quality in all sectors through the provision of advisory, executive and educational programs. Such programs satisfy the real needs of society, improve performance in all areas of the university, establish systems to determine how to do the work with the best efficiency and quality, assess performance according to specific standards, and enable the university to compete locally and internationally. The name of the Total Quality Program has been amended to become "Quality Management" by virtue of Resolution No. 3241/ق dated 03/20/1435 AH.
In order to achieve integration and comprehensiveness of work in the areas of quality, accreditation, evaluation and assessment carried out by the Quality Department, the Academic Accreditation Department, and the Evaluation and Assessment Department in the various sectors of the university, the University Vice Presidency decided to restructure these departments by establishing the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation where departments of Quality, Academic Accreditation and Evaluation and Assessment under a single administrative umbrella by virtue of a Ministerial Resolution No. 1272 dated 28/11/1438 AH of the Minister of Education.
This is to achieve integration and comprehensiveness of quality and accreditation work, to increase the ability of quality assurance of the university’s operations, activities and outcomes, and to increase coordination in the implementation of the university strategic plan projects in line with Vision 2030.
Strategic Objectives of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation

2- Enhancing the culture of quality, academic accreditation, evaluation and assessment
3- Work on achieving the requirements of national and international institutional and program accreditation
4- Creating and activating quality systems
5- Exchange of experience and knowledge and building partnerships
6- Raising professional, administrative and technical competence of employees and developing a creative work environment that is committed to values
7- Enhancing and diversifying self-supporting resources
8- Developing a high-standard structure
9- Making all services available electronically
